What We Offer

Hobson Builders is a residential general contracting firm headquartered in Charlotte, NC with a satellite office on Johns Island, SC, servicing Seabrook Island and the Kiawah Communities. Major renovations are our bread and butter but we also build custom new homes for discriminating customers. Deeply rooted in our community, we donate 5 percent of our proceeds to charitable causes and nonprofits focusing on mental health, child welfare and addiction/alcoholism

Our focus centers on:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships
  • Professionalism and courtesy
  • High-end craftsmanship
  • Directing custom home design and construction
  • Detailed planning and scheduling to manage and maintain project progress

Scheduling

We begin and complete projects according to a schedule. Our team uses Buildertrend, a state-of-the-art construction software to manage our projects and keep customers abreast of each phase of construction.

Budgeting

We begin and finish projects on budget because nobody likes to spend more money than they planned on spending. The price we give you is the price you pay unless you make changes or we encounter unforeseen conditions..

Craftsmanship

We build the old-fashioned way. Our projects are built to last and maintain their attractiveness over time. This is true whether we are working on historic renovations or new construction. Our subcontractors are all small business owners and take great pride in the quality of their work. Most have worked with us for over 10 years. In fact, we frequently work with the Charlotte Historic District Commission to ensure our home renovations maintain the historic character of the original architecture while bringing them up to modern codes and building standards.

Projects

Hobson Builders excels at bringing historic homes back to vibrancy. For starters, we have renovated the oldest duplex in Mecklenburg County (now a 5,000-square-foot single family home). Tucked away in the Elizabeth neighborhood, the structure was built in the early 1900s and has been remodeled into an efficient, single-family home. Our work can also be found in bustling uptown, smack in the middle of modern architecture. There we gutted the interior of a unit within The Ratcliffe Condos of Charlotte and rebuilt it from scratch.
